What To Know About Teen Acne Troubles

Teen acne problems have been a major skin problem among children now-a-days. Though it is not much dangerous as the name “acne” looks, the aftermaths of the disease such as scars, are really disturbing teens a lot and affect their self esteem. As we all know, when the present generation is giving much importance to beauty and health, anything like this will be a real problem.

1. Washing your face 2 or three times a day helps control oil that can cause acne. Soap containing salicylic acid controls acne by exfoliating the top skin layer. This prevents oil from clogging pores making skin look healthier. Salicylic acid is a weakened form of beta-hydroxy, which is used in other treatments such as dandruff. The percentage of beta-hydroxy depends on what is being treated. Soaps containing salicylic acid can dry the skin if skin is sensitive so try using a moisturizer that does not contain oil.

2. Knowing what can cause teen acne problems to occur and what can be done to prevent them will help a lot. To put in a more understandable form, teen acne problems are a special condition of skin which leads to the appearance of scars which we often call as pimples or spots. An ideal level that must be maintained for acne problems can be adjusted but when it appears in a more severe form, it really makes problems.

3. In some more severe cases of acne, antibiotics and photo therapy may be needed. Blocked pores are a perfect place for bacteria to grow. This causes pain inflammation and infection. Antibiotic treatment is needed to treat the bacteria. Photo therapy has been  shown to also kill bacteria is shorter amount of time than antibiotics. In many instances,  the antibiotics and photo therapy are used concurrently.

4. A number of other causes include the unexpected factors such as Genetic heredity. If the parents or grandparents were having any such problems, the children are also having the chance to become a victim of teen acne. However, it can be controlled only when the modern medical practices are able to make changes in the genetic code of the going-to-be-born child.

5. The best treatment for pimple spots is a benzoyl peroxide cream. While salicylic acid exfoliates the skin, benzoyl peroxide kills the bacteria that rises up from the blocked pores. This cream can be very drying to the skin, so it is not recommended to be used all over the face every day.

6. There are other ways to prevent and treat acne besides just creams and soaps. There are also some more natural ways. Vitamins, such as vitamin A and B have been shown to prevent or slow down acne breakouts. Zinc is a mineral that has also been shown to do the same. These recommendations need to be followed by a doctor to prevent accidently overdosing.
